◆ 01 — The Student

A school student with restless hands and a mind that won't sit still.

Currently studying at Tyndale Biscoe School, Srinagar — a place that taught me the line between curiosity and conviction. Outside the classroom, I build things on the internet and read more than I probably should.

◆ 03 — A Quiet Manifesto

On becoming.

T

he mind has a power when it looks at the world. When you sit with your thoughts and do not try to run from them you start to see that reality is not always what it seems. The person who wakes up every morning and thinks about the life they want to have and feels happy about it before it even happens is already getting close to making it real. This is not just dreaming with your eyes closed. This is an old and true way of thinking. But having wisdom is not enough — you have to do something with it. Life is something you are always working towards; it is not a place where you can stop and be done. The good thing about life is not when you finally get to where you want to be, it is the journey — the trying to be better than you were before, the trying to be the person you can be. Every great person who has ever lived knew this. They were not happy because they had everything they wanted; they were happy because they were always trying to be better. What you really believe in your heart the world will often give back to you. You can call it karma or energy. The truth is that when you live life with an open mind and a strong spirit you give more than you think and the world will pay you back in its own quiet way. Happiness is not something you can find by looking for it — it is something you become when you make choices every day to see the good in things, to be thankful even when things are not perfect, to love the life you are making and to never stop trying to be the best person you can be. Think about things carefully. Feel things deeply. Keep trying. Never give up. You will see how the world will slowly start to change around you.
